Sergi - 16-times world champion!
Meet Sergi, one of our cool Fat Moose ambassadors and a 16-time World Champion.
Can you tell me a little more about yourself?
My name is Sergi Nicolas, originally from Barcelona and currently living in Copenhagen, where I have been living for the past five years.
I discovered Streetboarding at the age of 12, and almost three decades later it is still my biggest passion and lifestyle.
Throughout my career I have become a 16-time Streetboard World Champion in various disciplines and have been named Rider of the Year twice.
Streetboarding is not just a sport for me – it is a lifelong journey where I push the limits, inspire others and live the dream on my board.
Why, and when, did you start competing?
I entered my first competition at just 14 years old, starting in Germany and flying to the US shortly after for my first ever Streetboard World Championship.
From the very beginning I was hooked – the energy, the challenge, the adrenaline rush. Competing makes me feel truly alive.
It’s not just about winning – it’s about testing my limits, chasing my dreams and sharing the passion for streetboarding with the world.
What do you like most about it?
One of the things I love most about streetboarding is the incredible friendships I’ve made and the amazing countries I’ve had the chance to visit.
Thanks to this sport, I’ve connected with people from all over the world and experienced cultures I never could have imagined. Streetboarding really opened up the world to me.
What’s your favorite country to compete in?
I would say Germany. In 2007 I had an unforgettable competition there and won three gold medals and a silver.
I felt unstoppable that year – everything just clicked! Germany will always have a special place in my heart for the incredible memories.
Do you have a special travel memory to share?
One of my most special travel memories is from when I was 15 years old and competed in my first Streetboard World Championship.
I won an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia – along with a big paycheck – even though I didn’t speak any English at the time!
After spending a month there, traveling and skating, I returned home speaking English. My mom was so happy.
That trip changed my life both on and off the board.
When you’re not skating, what do you do?
When I’m not skating, I spend a lot of time with my family, which is very important to me.
I also train and compete in triathlons – I love endurance sports and the challenge they bring, both mentally and physically.
Staying active and pushing my limits is a big part of who I am, both on and off the board. I’m always up for tough challenges.
Why do you think you are such a good match for Fat Moose?
I’ve been working with Fat Moose for just over a year now, and I really identify with their style and vision.
Their clothes are the perfect combination of outdoor functionality and urban style – you can wear them in the wild or in the city without missing a beat.
Since I live in a cold country like Denmark, Fat Moose clothes are perfect for my active outdoor lifestyle while keeping me comfortable and looking good.
What’s your favorite piece from the spring/summer collection?
Without a doubt, the MYLO cotton shirt paired with the Ludacris seersucker shorts. It’s the perfect combination of comfort and style—light, breathable, and ideal for skating, lounging, or soaking up those sunny summer days.
Thanks Sergi! You are the perfect Fat Moose ambassador as a 'street-outdoor-active man.
